About DeE …

New Jack Swingin' her way through life, Dena Williams carries her Scotian, 'Downhome', roots with her everywhere she goes. As an innovator, creative entrepreneur and advocate in the arts and culture sector, Dee is in constant pursuit of her God-given purpose to bring love and light to communities in any creative way possible. She does this through her business, Vitamin Dee Entertainment. A company that has opened up a number of collaborative opportunities, allowing her to work with local non-profit organizations, Music and Arts Festivals, Small Business, and local corporations. The NSMW Industry Professional of the Year Nominee, currently serves as the First Vice President for Music Nova Scotia, and was appointed to the Creative Nova Scotia Leadership Council in 2020.

While creating opportunities for others to express themselves creatively, Dena also does the same in her own life. In 2021, Dena took a deep dive into Filmmaking by participating in the Being Black in Halifax series, creating her first Short Documentary, ‘ A Passion Made New’. She has recently won the award for Best Direction, Documentary Series from the Canadian Screen Awards. Dena has used the power of words as a creative outlet in more ways than one. As a former Co-Host of the My Melanin Podcast, Dee brought her passion for creativity and social justice together. She has also used her gifts as a Writer for Un-Associated. Dee’s entrepreneurial drive has taken her from building her own businesses to making moves as she continues in pursuit of passion and purpose surrounding Music, Creativity, Ministry, and Entrepreneurship.
